Synopsis

Christophe Coello scans a 7 year overview of the lives of men and women who organized long term occupation of buildings in a Barcelona racked by property speculators. As they enthusiastically launch their political project, animated discussions on their ideas and practise arise at their sometimes turbulent assemblies, where they review the potential adequacy of their venture in a world that revolves around consumerism. Squat brushes a rare portrait of direct democracy, inviting viewers to total immersion in the experimental world of resistance.
